The Rising Stars Basketball Academy is excited to offer spring and summer training programs  that focus on developing to play versus playing to develop! These premier player development options will provide youth basketball players with a scaffolded teaching platform from some of the best instructors that Minnesota has to offer.  We are extremely fortunate to have top instructors and clinicians that have many years of experience and tremendous knowledge in basketball development and training. Our offerings will vary from general basketball instruction to advanced player development and are for ages 5U-14U. The intent of the Academy is to provide superior instruction, premier player development, at an affordable/cost effective price point for the up and coming youth basketball player. 

 We are excited to offer several great opportunities to further develop youth basketball players throughout the state of Minnesota, year-round. Offerings include, Rising Stars Basketball Leagues, No School Camps and Clinics, Showcase Skills Camps, Tryout Evaluations and more! 

Juriad Hughes is a 1989 graduate of St Paul Central High School, he was a finalist for Mr. Basketball ’89 and named Metro Player of the Year.  He continues to be St Paul Central’s leading scorer with over 1217 in two seasons.  Juriad’s collegiate career began at Casper Junior College (Casper, WY) being named All-Metro, All-Region, and All-American as a Freshmen and Sophomore.   Graduating with an Associates degree in Physical Education.   He then attended New Mexico State (Las Cruces, NM) and played for Aggies in the NCAA Tournament.  Hughes finished his career at South Dakota State University (Brookings, SD), named to North Central Conference All-Metro, All-State, and Division II All-American Honorable Mention.  He completed his degree at SDSU with a bachelor’s degree in business management.   After graduating and residing back his hometown and roots in St. Paul he spent a lot of time playing in Minnesota well-known Pro-Am Summer and had the pleasure of with some well-known and prominent names like Randy Carter, John Walton, Dusty Richkart, Arriel McDonald, Mario Green all former Gophers, plus very respected former NBA, CBA, and overseas players as well. When all his great playing days came to end he always dreamed of starting his own basketball academy named  OneLevelSports to have a privilege in giving back to any athlete, in his community and surrounding areas, all he learned in High School, Junior College, Division I,II also with the dedication, drive, hardwork, passion and love so they can have the opportunity to pursue the basketball dreams to the their maximum potential.

OneLevelSports academy offers services that cover all aspects of the game but gearing towards the essential elements that develop them into a complete athlete. Our academy is designed to enhance every athlete the ability to compete at any level at the current age and have the confidence to play up to GET THEIR GAME to next level respectively. Within their scheduled session with OneLevelSports we focus instructional footwork, ball handling, passing, shooting, defense positioning, defensive fundamentals, offensive moves, fundamentals of rebounding, conditioning, shooting concepts and much more….  OneLevelSports will be committed to the development of the athlete with the proper mechanics and technique with qualified staff.
