Protostar: A very young star just beginning its formation. With travel baseball beginning at 9U, the Rising Stars Baseball Academy is pleased to offer an option to those young stars just beginning their baseball journey! The inaugural Protostars 8U League will allow 3rd graders an opportunity to learn the fundamentals of baseball and get a chance to pitch / play games prior to their 9u tryouts.

Each 90-minute session will consist of a 30-minute practices session, led by our Rising Stars Academy instructors.  The practices will go over the fundamentals of hitting, fielding, and pitching prior to playing a game.

During the game, our instructors will serve as coaches for the teams.  To promote aggressiveness in pitchers and hitters, each at-bat will start with a 1-1 count (one ball, one strike).  This also allows for more at-bats and opportunities to pitch throughout the game.
Each week, Rising Stars instructors will take players through a 30-minute practice, followed by a 1-hour game.

The goal of the league is to get your young player some experience with pitching and the game of baseball beyond t-ball prior to their first real tryouts at 9u.  Tryouts can a stressful time and the experience can help your player relax and learn to enjoy the game!

The program will take team registrations (recommend 10 or more players) and individual registrations (teams will be formed out of those registrations).
