In 2025, the MYAS  launched the inaugural season of the Gopher State Football League (GSFL), successfully administered the 2nd annual Blaine Youth Football Classic, and provided superior league management to our MYAS Affiliate Leagues (Lake Minnetonka Athletic Association, South Metro 6, and Southwest Metro Youth Football League).

  • In the GSFL, Managing Directors and League Reps offered an enhanced experience for over 4,000 players, 650+ coaches and administrators, and 150+ officials over the course of 792 scheduled games.
  • The 2nd annual Blaine Youth Football Classic offered a competitive end-of-season tournament experience for the players, coaches, parents/fans of 35 teams, while providing a vital fundraising mechanism for the Blaine Youth Football Association.
  • The partnership between the MYAS and the Southwest Metro Football League entered its 3rd season, with MYAS serving as the scheduling partner of the league.
  • For the eighth consecutive year, MYAS partnered with the Lake Minnetonka Athletic Association to provide league management services for their member associations and teams.
  • For the fifth consecutive year, MYAS partnered with the South Metro 6 Youth Football Conference (formerly known as the South Suburban Youth Football League) to provide league management services and support for the youth football member association operations.

In aggregate, we were proud to support and provide league management services to 45 youth football associations and 349 youth football teams during the 2025 season.

Looking ahead

For 2026, the Gopher State Football League (GSFL)  will look to continue its momentum with constructive offseason meetings with association representatives, continual fine-tuning of league processes, and ongoing discussions with league stakeholders to ensure that the 2026 season offers an incredible experience for all involved.

Some key focus areas in 2026 include enhanced scheduling procedures, clearly defined season timelines, and improved transparency regarding league communications.

As we look ahead to 2026, we are energized by the opportunity to further connect, align, and strengthen Minnesota youth football through a unified effort that continues to grow and elevate the game.
