From Aaron Brick:
We only had one game last week, but Vinny made the most of it. 2-2, 2 runs scored and 5 RBI which included a Grand Slam.
Vinny continues to improve every day, every practice. He is a selfless teammate and never complains about anything. His defense this season has been much improved and he's a key component to our success. Watching his teammates react to his grand slam says everything about Vinny.
From Allison Zschokke:
Miles hit his (and the teams!) first AND second over the fence HR's the last week. 1st one was against East Ridge on Thursday June 12, the second dinger was vs. Edina on Saturday June 14.
The kind of kid you notice right away on the field. He makes the plays along with carrying himself with a quiet confidence and an unmistakable love for the game. A true all-around baseball player.
From Michael Mondor:
Peyton took the Battle of the Lakes Tournament by storm this past weekend going 8 for 8 at the plate with a double and five consecutive out of the park home runs including a grand slam. After Peyton's fifth home run in a row, he was intentionally walked for his remaining 3 at bats. Peyton took the intentional walks in stride and was able to manufacture runs on the base paths. Peyton also had a tremendous weekend in the field, demonstrating his versatility.
Peyton is tremendously gifted athlete who leads the team in most statistical categories. While it is fun to watch him excel playing the game he loves, it is even more impressive to watch him as a leader, friend and cheerleader for his teammates. Peyton demonstrates kindness with everyone he encounters, teammates and opponents alike. He soaks up coaching feedback and carries himself with humility and respect towards coaches, parents and all he encounters. I feel blessed to have the opportunity to coach such an amazing kid!
From Michael Mondor:
"Parker got the Ponies off to a great start at their tournament this past weekend with a towering double that bounced off the fence in the bottom of the first. He finished the game 2/3 with 3 RBI's, 2 Runs and several plays in the field and was recognized as player of the game. In his 2nd Game, Parker had two put outs in the top of the 1st inning. Unfortunately, he was injured making the final put out of the top of the 1st inning when a runner collided with his lower body when Parker was applying a tag for the out. Parker was brought to a local emergency department where all he cared about was watching his team online. Parker cheered on his team from his hospital bed despite having what was determined to be a broken ankle. Upon discharge from the hospital, Parker's first request was to go back to the field to be with his team. His awesome teammates greeted him and immediately cheered him up. Parker continued to support his team from the bench for the remainder of the tournament and he is determined to get back to his team as soon as possible."
Parker is extremely kind and has built tremendous relationships with all of his teammates. Parker has worked extremely hard to continue to develop and his hard work has paid off on the field. Parker's toughness was on full display this past weekend and should be applauded. Parker loves his teammates and demonstrates a "We before Me" mentality on and off the field. It is extremely rewarding to watch him excel at the sport he loves while building life-long friendships.
From all of us at MYAS, we're wishing you a speedy and full recovery, Parker!
From Chris Gadacz:
James has been a standout performer, ranking among the team leaders in nearly every major statistical category. At the plate, he's hitting an impressive .457 and leads the team in doubles (4), triples (3), and RBIs (21). On the mound, James is just as dominant, topping the pitching staff with 26 strikeouts over 24 innings pitched.
James isn't just a talented athlete, he's the kind of player every coach hopes for. Incredibly coachable and always willing to step into any role, James brings versatility and a team-first attitude to the field. He leads not only with his performance but also with his presence, setting the tone both in the dugout and on the diamond. When the game is on the line, James is the player you trust to rise to the occasion.
From John Borich:
Playing catcher is one of the toughest positions in baseball. Casey gives 100% effort and is accepts feedback to improve his game. As a batter, he has a powerful swing and has developed patience at the plate.
I have enjoyed coaching Casey because he is coachable, respectful, and shows top notch sportsmanship to everyone. Casey was also voted by his fellow teammates to attend the Rising Stars Showcase Game in August! Congratulations Casey!
WEEK 7
From Willie Wong:
Hunter made person and team history...maybe even in the league. In 2 combined games, Hunter hit for the cycle. A triple and single in the first game followed by a home run over the fence (first of his career and for the team) and double in the second game. Going 4 for 7 with 4 runs batted in (RBI) and 4 runs scored.
In addition to his bat, Hunter is one of the top pitchers on the team. When he is not on the mound, he plays solid defense at all the infield and outfield positions. He has one of the most reliable gloves playing 1st base fielding and catching everything from his teammates.
Hunter is one of the most coachable players on the team listening and putting into practice all of the coaches' instructions. He has a great competitive spirit whether he is on the mound at the plate. Hunter is always smiling at the ballpark having fun with his teammates. Beyond the field, he is a great kid to have around all the time.
From Erica Lemen:
"Closed the game against STMA, we were up 15-13, he struck out all three to WIN the game! He pitched 16 pitches in the game before that he pitched 44 pitches and 35 were STRIKES. "
Emmett is a clutch player who always keeps his team hyped! He’s been “lights out” on the mound with 27 SO’s this season. His baseball IQ is top-notch and you can always count on him to give 110%.
From K.C. Sager:
Tate has made continual progress as catcher for our team throughout the 2025 season. He is a solid, dependable player that has kept us in many games by giving every last bit of effort. Last night's game he went 2 for 2 and had a walk at the plate, caught two pop out foul balls, a pop out in play, fielded an out home, and made a head's up play to catch a runner stealing home.
Tate continues to refine his skills through hard work, reflection, and goal setting. He is incredibly coachable and brings not just his strong work ethic but a positive "lift others up" attitude to our team. Tate exemplifies all of the best qualities for player potential with motivation that can't be taught and will ultimately set the stage for his continued skill growth.
