Ben VC.
Monticello
9AA

From Coach Gary Glawe:
At only 8 years old, Ben helped his team punch their ticket to the State Tournament by pitching a complete semi-final game.  He threw 75 total pitches with 53 strikes and 9 strikeouts while only allowing 1 run.  He also went 9 for 14 at the plate during the tournament and hit a home run over the fence in his 2nd league game.

Ben brings consistency in everything he does and is a good leader for our team.  He shows up everyday and puts himself in position to make plays correctly.

Louis G
Woodbury
9AA

From Coach Dan Terry:
Tournament weekend 4 for 7, team leading 8 RBIs, only 1 SO, and best weekend performance after a rough start to the year. Prior to this weekend had been 6 for 21 with 12 SO.

Louis has been continuing to show up everyday to practice and games with one of the best attitudes and work ethics. Because of that he has made leaps and bounds with his skills and abilities. To see him put it all together this weekend and have one of the team's best performances was amazing to watch and I couldn't be more happy for him.

Bennett J.
Hanover Heat
10A

From Coach Kyle Bruns:
Bennett had a great week at the plate going 4 for 4, 6 RBI, 5 Runs, including his first inside the park home run! Bennett has made solid contact on every hit this season, spraying the ball all over the field.

On top of his hot bat, Bennett is always a great teammate. Always positive, laughing, and chatting up his teammates. Just a fun, positive kid to be around. It has been so fun watching him do well from the start this season!

Dash C.
STMA
10A

From Coach Anthony Dorn:
Dash has been a star all season. This past weekend Dash finished 6 for 6 included 3 error free inside the park home runs that were all hit to the fence.  His last game of the tournament in our 3rd place game he hit all 3 of his HR and had 7 RBI.  Included in his weekend Dash pitched 1 scoreless inning in our opening game and made numerous plays in the field.

Dash is a great teammate and coachable player. Dash is always positive in the dugout, picks up his teammate and listens well. Dash is a strong athlete and absorbs feedback quickly putting into action in games.  Dash deserves to be player of the work without any doubts in my mind at the 10U level.

Dash is a great kid who plays multiple sports. He has a passion for football and cares for teammates in all sports he competes in.

Barrett S
White Bear Lake
10AA

From Coach Joe Eckel:
Barrett had an amazing week.  He went 7 for 11 at the plate with 6RBI, 4 runs scored with 2 triples, 1 double and 2SB.  On top of that, he was dominant on the mound with 2IP, just 2 hits allowed and only 1ER.

Barrett is a leader on this team and exemplifies White Bear Lake baseball.  He brings a great energy and is always positive.  He gives a great effort week in and week out.

Calder B.
Buffalo Bison
10AA

From Coach Aaron Brick:
Calder went 6-8 (.750) over a 3-game span last week with 2 doubles and 2 triples while scoring 7 runs and driving in 6. He also pitching 2 innings, giving up 1 run, striking out 3 and making every play in the field.

Calder has a great understanding of the game and is also a great teammate. This is his first year with Buffalo BBA but has quickly taken on the leadership role.

Ezra S.
Stillwater
11A

From Coach Willie Wong:
In 2 games last week, Ezra had 6 hits in 7 at bats.  Two of the six hits were doubles.  He had 6 RBIs and scored 2 runs while stealing a base.

Ezra is always respectful to the coaches and fellow teammates.  He works hard to improve in all aspects of the game.  He is always supportive of his teammates while always being positive and having a good attitude.  In addition to baseball, Ezra plays tackle football and basketball.  A well-rounded student-athlete and an overall great kid!

Henry "Hank" S.
Zimmerman Thunder
11AA

From Coach Drew:
There are a lot of reasons for Henry to be player of the week. Hank is a outstanding student, great friend, and has a one of a kind smile. Been coaching Henry for many years now and this season he has surprised me with the bat. Off-season work has paid off for him. There are a few things Henry has always had. Talent at first base is one of them. Saving his teammates with great one hop saves and toe tap outs. Then I put him on the hill. Hank throws in such a way that's hard to describe and even harder to hit. The bench loves watching batters turn inside-out!! 6.1 innings pitched, 5 Ks, 11 left on base, 1.000 fielding %.

Henry has the passion for baseball. He's the player who says I can't wait for baseball in November. A positive attitude and great teammate. Calm under pressure, he's my closer in big spots.

Cameron I.
Anoka Torndoes
12A

In our tournament this past weekend Cameron hit his first career home run, a 4 run shot that helped us win the game and advance to Sunday!!!

Cameron is always upbeat and all smiles! He helps pick up his teammates when they are struggling and is a leader on and off the field

Cam S.
OMGAA Storm Black
12AAA

From Coach Chris Mueller:
Cam smoked a Grand Slam, the team's first Home Run of the year, in the 2nd inning of our recent tournament game. He also knocked in another run in the team's victory.

Cam is always the first to practice and last to leave. He embraces his role as a power hitting outfielder and works to improve every day!

Finnegan B.
Princeton Tigers
12AAA

From Coach John Borich:
Finnegan has taken on the new leadership role  playing shortstop and lead off hitter! An opposing coach said "that #10 sure is patient at the plate and fast!" He leads the team at quality at bats, walks, and stolen bases.  He has been known to be the lefty that walks but this season he is aggressive at the plate and making solid hits to start our team off in the right direction! He anticipates the play and is ready to give 100% every game.

Finnegan is a humble athlete. He thinks of his teammates before himself. As his father and coach, I have seen so much growth this season as a baseball player. Like all of his teammates and everyone in the 12U AAA level, in order to thrive at this competive level, you have to put the time in to see growth. Finn is committed and we all see how much he loves the game of baseball! He usually has a big smile on his face which keeps our team having fun!

Oliver J.
Hudson
12AAA

Pitched three scoreless innings (1 hit, 0 walks, 27 pitches) on Monday against Mahtomedi (5/12), then pitched a complete game (7 hits, 1 walk, 88 pitches) win against the Millers in the Eagan tournament on Saturday (5/17).

Oliver brings a lot of fun energy to the team, he plays multiple positions on the field and really enjoys his time with his friends.

Mitch S.
Parkway
13AA

From Coach Peter Bradshaw:
Mitch had a monster day at the plate with 2 out of the park homeruns.

He has a positive attitude and gives his all during games and at practice!
