Rising Stars High School League Tips Off Exciting First Weekend

ST. MICHAEL, MINNESOTA - This past weekend marked the thrilling return of the Boys Rising Stars High School League! The opening weekend, hosted by St. Michael Albertville High School and Benilde-St. Margaret's High School, treated fans to 49 great games. Teams competed across three competitive divisions: Upperclassmen, Sophomore, and Freshmen.

The gyms were buzzing with energy as players, coaches, and fans celebrated the return of the Rising Stars High School League in full force. The competition was fierce, with teams eager to start the season on the right foot, showcasing their talent, teamwork, and passion for the game.

It is fantastic to witness so many dedicated athletes continue their basketball journey through the program. The hard work these athletes continue to put in, shows. It was clear that there were many teams and players who came prepared for the opening weekend, ready to play some high level hoops.

We’d like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all of this year’s participants—both returning programs from last year and the new teams joining us for the first time. We also want to recognize all the gracious coaches this year. Your enthusiasm and commitment truly elevate this league to new heights. A special thank you to the hosting schools throughout the season, for providing excellent venues and warm hospitality for our growing league.

With games scheduled over the coming weeks on January 12th, 19th, 26th, and February 2nd, 9th, and 16th, there’s plenty of action to look forward to. We are all excited to watch this league and its athletes continue to grow, and provide another outlet for so many kids who want to keep playing the beautiful game of basketball.

Here’s to an exciting season ahead—full of great basketball, sportsmanship, and memories that will last a lifetime.
