2024 Gopher State 3rd-5th Grade Spring Champs

The hardwood of Prior Lake High School echoed with the sounds of dribbles, cheers, and swishes as young basketball talents from across the Gopher State showcased their skills in the 2024 Gopher State Spring Championships. Held on May 18th-19th, the tournament was a testament to the passion and dedication of these budding athletes, who left everything on the court in pursuit of victory.

Girls' Division:

In the Girls 3/4B/C division, the Edina G3 Gold team shone brightly, demonstrating exceptional teamwork and skill to claim the championship title. Edina G3 Gold took home the championship after winning 3 close games with an average margin of victory of just under 4 points! 

For the Girls 4BC division, the MN Queens emerged victorious, showcasing their prowess and resilience on the court. With precision plays and relentless effort, they clinched the championship rings with a 7-point victory over NorthWest Elite Hoops G4 Green.

Meanwhile, in the Girls 5B division, the Minn Starks Taylor team displayed dominance and finesse, securing the title with their stellar performance and strategic gameplay. Minn Starks Taylor outscored their opponents by a combined 47 points over 3 games to claim the championship rings.

In the Girls 5C division, the Wiscity team exhibited grit and determination to emerge as deserving champions with a victory over MN Heat Lines - Alliance. Wiscity also claimed victories over High Impact and MN Max. 

Boys' Division:

The Boys' 3/4B/C division witnessed great competition, but it was the Wayzata Warriors who emerged triumphant, displaying exceptional teamwork.  Wayzata Warriors defeated MN Swish 10U - Grey to claim the championship rings. 

In the Boys 3A/B division, D1 Minnesota Greyhounds showcased their talent and determination, executing flawless plays and dominating their opponents in pool play.  D1 Minnesota Greyhounds secured the title with a 5-point victory over Mpls Christian Life B3.

For the Boys 4D1/A category, the Mpls Heritage Black team delivered a stellar performance with their strategic gameplay and skillful execution to emerge as champions. The rings were claimed when they secured their 3rd win by 3 points over Team GetShook.

In the Boys 5D1/A division, it was the MTH 11U Elite - Underwood team that rose to the occasion, displaying resilience and composure to clinch the championship title with a 12 point win over Metro North B5.

Lastly, in the Boys 5C division, the River City Cougars exhibited tenacity and skill, battling their way to victory with 3 impressive games. The rings were claimed with a 3-point win over Northwest Elite Hoops B5 Green.


The 2024 Gopher State 3rd-5th Grade Spring Champs Basketball Tournament at Prior Lake High School was a thrilling showcase of young talent, sportsmanship, and determination. From buzzer-beaters to defensive stands, every moment was filled with excitement and passion for the game.

As the cheers faded and the final buzzer sounded, champions were crowned, but the true victory lay in the friendships formed, lessons learned, and memories created on the hardwood. Congratulations to all the teams who participated and to the deserving champions who emerged victorious.
