April showers are supposed to bring May flowers, but to me those April showers mean the calendar is turning to baseball.  The snow has melted and both the weather and pitchers’ arms are heating up.  The Gopher State Baseball League officially celebrated its 25th anniversary with four games being played on Opening Day, April 15th.   Between the GSBL and GSRBL, Gopher State Baseball will see 520+ teams out on the diamond this summer.

Gopher State Baseball Tournaments

On the tournament side, the season started May 3rd with a trip up to Sartell at beautiful Pinecone Park for the Spring Invitationals.  Sartell has been a wonderful host for our baseball events over the past couple of years.  Their set-up of six baseball fields is tough to beat and provide a great facility to spend a Spring or Summer Weekend!

Gopher State Baseball tournaments are sure to provide a lot of excitement throughout the season.  The Spring Invitationals, the Mid-Summer Classic, and the Duluth Invites all provide the 300+ teams already entered with more opportunities to qualify for the crown jewel of the summer, the Gopher State Tournament of Champions!

Gopher State Baseball will be celebrating another milestone anniversary this year, as it is the 20th year of the Gopher State Tournament of Champions. This annual event brings together more than 600 teams that qualify throughout the summer. Teams qualify by finishing in 1st or 2nd place (in some case 3rd and 4th place), creating a state level tournament full of the top performing teams through the summer.
