FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
August 4, 2023
Minnesota Youth Athletic Services (MYAS) is excited to announce a mutually beneficial partnership with the North Metro Youth Football League (NMYFL), a youth football league made up of community-based traveling football teams grades 2-6 from communities located in the north suburbs of the Twin Cities metro area to execute the game scheduling and digital upload portions of the NMYFL league season.
The MYAS has been proud to administer youth sports leagues for over three decades, primarily in the sports of youth baseball and basketball and, most recently, youth football. The MYAS will utilize its 32-year history and over 200 years of MYAS team member experience to complete this complex task. The additional administrative support in partnership will allow Kevin Johnston, Managing Director, to focus more attention on the more than 50-team leagues players, coaches, and association leadership.
The North Metro Youth Football League (“NMYFL”) is a collaboration of communities located in the north metro of the Twin Cities organized to provide a tackle football league for youth grades 2-6 as well as a flag program for K-1. The participating community-based football associations are Blaine Youth Football Association, Centennial Youth Football, Coon Rapids Youth Football, and Spring Lake Park Youth Football.
“Our organization is excited and proud to deepen our partnership with Managing Director, Kevin Johnston, and the member associations of the NMYFL to provide league scheduling services for them”, MYAS Executive Director, Dawson Blanck said. “We look forward to expanding the administrative services and enhancing their offerings through our partnership with the NMYYFL.”
The MYAS is proud to be the official administrative service agent for Lake Minnetonka Athletic Association, South Suburban Youth Football League, and most recently Southwest Metro League Football and now the North Metro Youth Football League. On an annual basis, these leagues provide competitive opportunities for nearly 325 youth football teams originating from 28 community-based youth football associations.
In May 2023, the MYAS introduced three football offerings that offer supplemental options outside of their league play for community-based youth tackle football teams and individual players throughout the state of Minnesota and surrounding areas.
