AGE AND GRADE CUT-OFF DATES

2023-24 Season

Grade/Age Requirements: Players must play in the grade division in which they are currently enrolled and must meet the appropriate age limitation specified below:

• 3rd Grade Born on or After September 1, 2013
• 4th Grade Born on or After September 1, 2012
• 5th Grade Born on or After September 1, 2011
• 6th Grade Born on or After September 1, 2010
• 7th Grade Born on or After September 1, 2009
• 8th Grade Born on or After September 1, 2008

Notes

• It is permissible for a player to play up from their designated grade division, but they may not play down. For example, a 5th grader may play on a 6th grade team but a 5th grader may not play on an 4th grade team.
• A player who has been accelerated in school may participate in the grade level that would be their “natural” grade.
• MSHSL Rule: Any 7th or 8th grade player that has participated on a team with 10th, 11th or 12th graders is NOT eligible to participate on a 7th or 8th grade travel team. Note: A 7th or 8th grader called up to the 9th grade team is eligible to come back and play with their appropriate grade division.
