Why I love MYAS: With a long history of serving youth through sports, MYAS has done anything but grow stale. Instead, they continue to look for new ways to reach more kids and their families. Brent Hanus: Irondale HS Girls Basketball Hoops Club
This past spring (2023) the Irondale High School Girls Basketball team partnered with MYAS to host one of their Gopher State Spring Basketball Series Tournaments. We hosted 34 teams throughout the day from and on Sunday hosted 16 additional teams . The MYAS tournament director was onsite all weekend and was very professional helping to ensue the smooth operation of the event. The hoops clubs volunteers did a great job completing their assigned responsibilities. Our team took home 100% of the profits from both the admissions and concessions stand sales. Over the course of 2 days our team was able to profit more than $8,000 and was by far the most successful fundraiser we’ve ever done as an organization. The MYAS staff were extremely great to work with. From the details we were provided prior to the event from MYAS, the onsite MYAS tournament director and all the MYAS officials made for this event to go off without any issues. We are grateful for the new partnership with MYAS and look forward to working together on other fundraising opportunities to host additional MYAS events at Irondale High School.
