Coaches,

Wanted to send you some updates and reminders as the league officially kicks off for most teams this Saturday. Please see below.

  • Please remind all members of your team to conduct themselves in a way that reflects positively on your community and association.
  • Websites
  • Reporting Scores
    • Coaches are responsible for reporting game scores.
    • We are asking both coaches to ensure this gets done.
    • Please see the instructions listed below.
  • Each team must provide a scorekeeper.
    • Please be proactive and find a volunteer to handle these duties.
    • Home Team: Listed on the top of the applicable game’s bracket or first in a pool play game; will wear light jerseys; and their scorekeeper is responsible for operating the score clock.
    • Visiting Team: Listed on the bottom of the applicable game’s bracket or second in a pool play game; will wear dark jerseys; and their scorekeeper is responsible for filling out the official scoresheet.

    • Ball Size: 27.5
    • Basket Height: 10 feet
    • Free Throw Distance: 12 feet

Coaches,

Wanted to let you know that schedules are posted for the December 2 and 16 play dates. Please see some additional information listed below.

  • Please remind all members of your team to conduct themselves in a way that reflects positively on your community and association.
  • We did the best we could to limit travel.
    • If your team/association would like to host some games, please see the attached host application document.
    • Please keep in mind that this is travel basketball so there will be some travel involved.
  • Game Sores
    • We are asking coaches to submit the games scores online once the games are completed.
    • I will send additional information and instructions after the Thanksgiving holiday.
  • Game Locations
    • Will have concession stands.
    • There will be no admission charged at the door.
    • You do not need to check-in when you arrive. You can go directly to your court.
  • Each team must provide a scorekeeper.

Thank you for choosing to participate in the Inaugural MYBA 3rd Grade Basketball League. I wanted to reach out with some updates.

  • If you are receiving this email, that means that we have received registration for your team(s).
    • If you have additional teams to register, please do so by November 5.
  • Team Rosters (very important):
    1. Please make sure your team roster is completed by November 15.
    2. Be sure to add your Coaches 7 Players
      • Adding the coaches will ensure that we are communicating with appropriate people.
    3. This is required for all league and MYBA member teams.

  • The first play date is December 2.
  • Schedules will be posted no later than November 21.
    1. Initial schedules will only include games for Dec 2 and Dec 16.
    2. We will see how teams do in those games to help determine the most evenly matched opponents for the remainder of the league.

    • Note: Hosting games is not required.

  • Game Times: All games will be played in the morning or afternoon. Ideally, all teams will have a one hour break between games.
