Why Do Criminal Background Checks?

How do we protect our children? Reports of sexual predators and child abuse involving the clergy, day care workers and youth volunteers are all too familiar. Unfortunately, this includes a disturbing number of youth sports coaches who have a history of incidents of sexual misconduct and/or violence. This is a complex issue and many youth sports organizations are unclear about what to do or how to approach this threat, yet they must take proactive steps to prevent their children from becoming innocent victims. Don’t put your children at risk!

Also, the US Chamber of Commerce reports that $50 billion is lost annually due to employee theft and fraud. Youth sports associations must protect themselves from this threat as well. Don’t put your association at risk!

Why Use the MYAS/RHR Information Systems to Screen?

The MYAS, with its partner RHR Information Systems (RHR), has designed a criminal background check system that offers three affordable options to youth sports associations. RHR, a local Twin Cities company, incorporates a “user-friendly” process combined with a flexible information delivery to make this system easy and inexpensive for your organization. RHR provides the speed and interaction of web-based access and the flexibility of other delivery methods upon request. And, if you have questions along the way, a customer service representative is always available to assist you.

RHR is on the leading edge of technology. All customers are set up with secure, online accounts that can be accessed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. RHR takes significant measures to protect the rights of individuals as well as our customers. We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer any personally identifiable information that is shared with them. The information that you provide is only used to support transactions conducted on our site. Report fees are part of your MYAS Package. You choose which ONE package meets your needs for all coaches and staff. Lists of 25 or more names can be sent using a special Excel based spreadsheet for easier and faster service. Fewer than 25 names can be entered using our easy online format. Finished reports are accessed through your secure, online account. RHR can supply custom e-mail reports showing any convictions found when using our Excel spreadsheet format. This will save time going through each individual report online. There is no added cost for this service.

Pertinent information is available to you in a timely manner. Reports generated using the Excel based spreadsheets are available within hours after we receive the Excel spreadsheet, but no more than 24 hours. Reports entered directly through our online format are available in less than 5 minutes.

MYAS/RHR Criminal Background Check Packages

Report Lead Times – All reports listed are basically “Instant” reports.  Turn around times depend on how a report is entered

1. Excel Spread Sheet (25 or more names) – When the Excel Spreadsheet format is used, the completed sheet is e-mailed to RHR.  The applicant names are entered by RHR.  Reports will be completed with in a few hours but no later than 24 hours.
2. Internet Option (24 or fewer names) – When the Association inputs each Applicant name, the report is complete within 5 minutes unless there is a hit on the National Sexual Predator report.  RHR will review the name to verify the conviction, which could take up to 24 hours.

Package #1 – MN BCA -- $5.00                           

• MN BCA is a repository of county convictions in the State of Minnesota. Some of the convictions found in this report may include: Felonies (Theft, Assault), Sexual Predator Convictions, DUI and Speeding.

Package #2 – MN BCA and Social Security Trace --$11.00

• MN BCA is a repository of county convictions in the State of Minnesota.  Some of the convictions found in this report may include: Felonies (Theft, Assault), Sexual Predator Convictions, DUI and Speeding.

• Social Security Trace will show all AKA’s, 10 year address history, and verifies the Social Security #.  All AKA’s will be run against the BCA.

Package #3 – MN BCA, Social Security Trace, National Sex Offender Search -- $16.00

• MN BCA is a repository of county convictions in the State of Minnesota.  Some of the convictions found in this report may include: Felonies (Theft, Assault), Sexual Predator Convictions, DUI and Speeding.

• Social Security Trace will show all AKA’s, 10 year address history, and verifies the Social Security #.  All AKA’s will be run against the BCA.

• National Sex Offender Search – Shows Sex Offense convictions in 49 states plus the District of Columbia (Rhode Island is not included).
