MYAS Winter Basketball Tournaments are held for school, community traveling teams and in-house teams in grades 4-12. The teams must be formed by a community athletic association or bona fide school or in-house program. The divisions of competition are "A" (advanced), "B" (intermediate), "C" (beginning) and "Rec" (In-house). Travel Directors and coaches are responsible for classifying their teams into the appropriate division.
The Super Saver format allow teams to get three games in one day. The ideal format allows teams to play three games in six hours, with one hour scheduled between each game. The timing factors are two 20-minute running halves with the last two minutes of each half being stop time. Super Savers are conveniently located throughout the metro area.
Super Saver Tournaments also offer a category of play strictly for in-house teams in grades 4-12. The in-house category now features a high school division (grades 10-12). The division of competition is held for teams that participate in a senior in-house program or a school intramural program. The in-house teams can now compete against other metro area teams for a more competitive basketball experience. The in-house teams are eligible to participate in the Super Savers and still maintain their eligibility for the Rec State Basketball Championships. All in-house teams that want to participate in Super Savers must originate from a community, park and recreation program or a high school intramural program.
