MYAS Gopher State Championships

2005 MYAS State Folkstyle Tournament

For the MYAS State Tournament, wrestlers must make the declared registered weight. We will not re-bracket people. We will allow wrestlers to change their weight up until February 18th.
Weigh-ins will take place February 26th at both Eagan HS and the Radisson Hotel near the Xcel Energy Ctr from 1-3pm.
Wrestling will start promptly at 9am on February 27th at Eagan HS.
There will be a pancake breakfast at 8am.
The School Boy Division will include wrestlers born in 1991 and 1992 as well as wrestlers that are currently enrolled in 7th and 8th grade. School Boys do not need to qualify for the MYAS State Tournament. They must pre-register by the Feb 11th date.
Each wrestler that is on a roster for the MYAS Team State Tournament, automatically earns a berth to the individual MYAS State Tournament.

We have made many improvements for this year's tournament. They include:

Saturday weigh-ins / two locations

Eagan HS from 1-3pm
The Radisson Hotel from 1-3pm (Near the Xcel-convenient for visitors to the State High School Championships).
This will allow Sunday to run very smooth.

Expanded Facility- gym space, seating and concessions

Two side-by-side gymnasiums with 15 surfaces.
Access to the wrestling room for mat work and warm up.
A large commons area located near the gymnasiums with plenty of seating and three large concession areas.
Pancake breakfast provided by the local Cub Scouts, 7-10am

Internet access to view registrations and bracketing prior to the tournament

Registrations will be posted on the MYAS website (www.myas.org) as they come in.
We will post the brackets on the MYAS website (www.myas.org) Saturday evening.
We will also post approximate start times for each group.

We learned a lot last year and we are working very hard make this tournament the best tournament in Minnesota. Thank you.
