The MYAS and the MYAS Advisory Committee are proud to announce the following changes for 2012. This group is dedicated to delivering the best possible tournament experience.

New for 2012

Now called Gopher State Nationals. This was done to eliminate the confusion that this tournament is a state tournament. This tournament draws top wrestlers from 10-12 states every year.

Qualifier for Minnesota Tournament of Champions

Electronic Score Clocks

More mat space; full mats for grades 3-8 and half mats for grades K-2

Bigger brackets; modified some weight classes

Increased effort to recruit wrestlers from other states

Bigger and better awards

The changes listed above are in addition to:

Identify top wrestlers in each bracket and position them so they do not meet until the later rounds

1.5 minute periods for grades 5 & 6, along with grades 7 & 8

Offer a Girls Division

Qualifier for Ohio Tournament of Champions

Wrestlers from 10-12 states every year

High School Certified Officials

Match-by-match results posted online day after tournament
Round-by-round results printed on-site at tournament

Ability to view registered wrestlers

Great facility with plenty of seating

Very well run/smooth tournament flow

Tournament starts on time and is completed in a reasonable time
