Dear Coach,

Congratulations on your team’s selection to compete in the 2005 Girls’ Grade Basketball State Championships on March 4-6. We are looking forward to your participation in this event, sponsored by the Minnesota Youth Athletic Services (MYAS).

This is not just another invitational tournament. As a result, we have certain rules, regulations, policies and procedures that all participating teams must follow. Highlighted below are several important areas of concern. Please be certain to read all of the following information very carefully.

TOURNAMENT HEADQUARTERS:

2) TEAM CHECK-IN: All teams participating in the 2005 MYAS Grade Basketball State Championships were required to submit proof of grade prior to the seeding meeting for their respective grade/gender. With this process complete, the MYAS asks all teams report to their designated Tournament Headquarters to receive their coach and player passes and other appropriate information, and to let the Tournament Director know their team has arrived.

3) OFFICIAL TOURNAMENT ROSTER: The roster you submitted with your application is your official roster. All official tournament rosters for teams in your grade/division will be on-site in the hands of the Tournament Director. No changes will be allowed on your roster.

4) ADMISSION: All players and up to TWO coaches per team will be admitted free of charge. All other coaches and/or spectators will be charged an admission fee. Concessions and souvenirs will be available at all sites.

The intent of a State Championship is to showcase and recognize the talent and energy of our Minnesota youth sport participants. In order to do so, we ask that all of the coaches, players, parents and spectators keep the competition in the proper perspective. Good sportsmanship is a mandatory ingredient for a successful event. Please inform everyone that unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated. We encourage your team to play hard, play fair and respect your opponents and the tournament officials. We’ll see you at the tournament!
