HAWKEYE NATIONALS RECAP

The Hawkeye Nationals kicked off the 2018-19 Midwest Wrestling Tour at Young Arena!

Over 735 wrestlers and their families invaded the Midwestern town of Waterloo from as far as Colorado, Oklahoma and Michigan to get a taste of what the Midwest has to offer.  Most weight classes featured big seeded brackets making it a true accomplishment to make the podium.  Champions were awarded Hawkeye Nationals 'Champion' Fight shorts provided by Cliff Keen Athletic

Dan Gable, legendary wrestler and Olympic Gold Medalist, was kind enough to make an appearance, take pictures and sign autographs on Saturday.  Go check out the National Wrestling Hall of Fame.

About 200 wrestlers also began their quest for the MWT Belt, which is awarded to wrestlers that place 1st-4th in three of four MWT events.
